Measurement Principle
Antioxidants in the sample reduce ferric ions (Fe³⁺) to ferrous ions (Fe²⁺), resulting in a color change.
The degree of discoloration is proportional to the antioxidant capacity.

Samples and storage
The sample should be serum / heparin plasma (*EDTA and citrate samples are not viable). Samples can last for 1 year when it is stored at -20 °C or lower.
